                              ~ Geldreng's Story~

It started during the falling of the leaves last year. It was said that young Isparian's were disappearing without a trace. No one knew for sure what was happening and the townsfolk were starting to get a bit nervous as it seemed that only the strongest and bravest vanished. It was late one evening about a moon cycle ago that my older brother Galthenar went to hunt for some game when he never came back. We looked for him in the area but found no trace of him. Mother and Father were very upset and as the days went on their grief began to overcome them. I vowed that I would find him and return him to them.

One afternoon I decided to search down a valley that was almost hidden from view and came upon an interesting site. There in the middle of a meadow was Galthenar's bow and pack. There were no signs of a struggle or tracks leading away. I tentatively moved forward and when I got to the location there was a strange pull, like I had to be somewhere else. Suddenly a purple whirlwind appeared and I was taken away from my beloved Ispar. I think I passed out as I was flung through space and time and awoke with a daze near a building with four spires on it and a strange whirling blue stone. There was a note by that said this is a lifestone attune yourself to this before venturing further. I was unsure what that meant until I tried to use the stone and an inner peace came over me. I then noticed a sign that said newcomers enter here. I went into the building and met a nice gentleman that told me I was in Dereth now and that there was no way to return to Ispar at this time. He also mentioned a powerful mage named Asheron that was responsible for bringing me here.

After learning what I could of my new surroundings I ventured forth to find what this world had to offer me. And to my surprise heard tales of an archer named Galthenar that had a severe dislike for rabbits. I hunted down the source of these stories, a kind gentleman named Xenwrathe, and found that yes it was my brother and that he hates the rabbits because he blames them for leading him to this place. I was able to find Galthenar battered and torn as he had been fighting mighty Banderlings and came up short. He informed me that this was a dangerous land and that the creatures that inhabit here are nothing like those of Ispar save for the rabbits and cows. He introduced me to another gentleman as well named Inkebah and said that he was leading a band of men to seek answers to this land called Dereth. I became convinced that this is the type of group I should join and maybe I could find a way to get back to Ispar and relieve my parents of their grief.

I soon realized that the roads of Dereth were just too dangerous for the weary traveller and vowed to rectify that situation. I have begun patroling the roads and dispatching all creatures that would seek the demise of the Isparian's that are trying to survive here. I found that the town I had been flung to was called Rithwic and that there was a town to the northeast called Eastham that may offer me some solice as I continued to get my bearings. I was greatly dismayed to find the amount of creatures laying in wait on this road that were wanting to take the lifeforce from fellow Isparian's as they travelled these roads. I met many an adventurer in my travels and they all have wished me well in my quest. It seems to have struck a chord with all Isparian's that the roads should be as safe as those in our beloved Ispar. I have received assistance and gifts for no apparent reason and have been willing to offer assistance when I can. Until the day when I can return to Ispar, I vow to seek the knowledge of this land looking for a way to return and to ensure that the roads are once again safe for all those that travel in this land called Dereth.
